About

The Umpires Association was first established in 1926 and was known as the Metropolitan Amateur Football Association Umpires Association.

Season 1933 commenced with a change of name from the M.A.F.A.U.A. to the Victorian Amateur Football Association Umpires Association after the football administrators of that time voted to change the name from Metropolitan to Victorian, as it was clear that all other amateur state bodies would compete in any carnivals under their state names.

The V.A.F.A. Umpires Association was incorporated under the Associations Incorporations Act 1981 on the 3rd September 1987.
